I simply used the screener to identify 1-star companies with the highest 52-week gain. The 1-star rating should mean they are bad companies and the 52-week gain should mean they are overpriced. We’ll see how it works!

P/E is 910 (!) with high debt ratio and poor revenue.

The tremendous growth thus seen in the waste management sector is going nowhere even in the face of a recession this summer. Bill Gates sure called this sector a few years ago when he invested gobs of money into it becuase he saw an oppertunity. Well, folks that oppertunity is still there, and I see this entire sector continuing up. The laughable P/E of all of these companies will soon disappear. Time to jump on board if you haven't already.

am i reading this correctly? P/E of 910?
Recs
Hard to put faith in a stock with a P/E of 910. I'd say there's a lot of optimism about this stock, which I do not believe is supported by the business.
Recs
The P/E ratio is astronomical. But soon they won't have any earnings to speak of anyway.

company has a big load of debt, is barely afloat with its margins, and continues to have a sinking stock price. old saying in industry "YOUR TRASH is OUR CASH" DOESN'T seem to apply!

Can't find a good reason why anyone would buy this.

Um, yeah. Usually I avoid companies with a P/E of 467. That's just a little too high, you know? I honestly don't see much of anything going for these guys. Margins are shrinking, the company is borrowing money, nothing that a P/E of even 30 could justify. To justify this super-high valuation, earnings need to rise quickly or the stock needs to fall. Folks, earnings aren't going to rise, this stock is going to fall.

"Casella to harness landfill gas" is all I needed to hear.
Recs
really? I thought the p/e ratio was suitable...

Casella is a waste disposal company, but they are working hard on a move to more recycling. Many companies are looking forward to "zero waste", so they need to reuse or recycle the things they can't eliminate altogether. Some folks a hoping to hit waste producers with fees, taxes, fines, so I think Casella might be ahead of the game if they come up with green solutions.

This small cap stock will still underperform the S&P for now but I think it has seen its bottom and for the next few month it will pick up and move higher
