On October 6th, 2009 the U.S. Department Of Energy Selected CEMEX to Develop Carbon Capture and Sequestration Technology to Cut CO2 Emissions.

They just went through a major restructuration , cutting operational cost and they revenue will improve on 2010 by at least 15%

They will have major contracts not only with US but also with Mexico, Venezuela, UK, and China that will boost the stock to a book value of 2007, if not more.

Just wait and see

Eventually, industrial growth and infrasture development will rebound. CX is well positioned to dramatically increase revenue and profits when this happens.

An international construction play. Be contrary, you can get it for a great price these days.

They've managed a portfolio of plants all over the world, and become a truely global player offering great currency diversification.

WHEN construction starts back up they're going for a ride, you can't build a building these days without concrete.

This is more of a note to self than pitch ---

Cemex has good growth prospects. They are well positioned in emerging markets. Historical earnings and cash flows have been around the $0.75 - $1.30 range. I liked this a lot when it crept under $7; and especially under $5, where it was an outright steal! At $13, I'm becoming more neutral on it.

Net tangible assets are $0, which means the company's entire value could be dependent on cash flows. While cash flows are strong, I believe they support a valuation somewhere in the $14 - $23 range. My most likely valuation is around $18-19. I'll keep my green thumb running for now, but I believe this stock is approaching a fair valuation.

This stock has taken a beating lately, and underperformed the S&P. However, it is priced at a huge discount, and investors would be wise to add this staple to their portfolio at a bargain price.
