price to sales is now below 1 - time to get on board.

One of the largest cement producers in North America. Rinker purchase was very smart. This company will weather the recession and profit largely after that.

Management with good growth track record. Strong multinational roots. Only thing holding back stock price is the economy. Economy should eventually turn around and this will be greatly influenced by the U.S. However, their strong multinational background will help them excel in the future no matter what. The stock price is down and this is a great long-term buy. Good dividends also a plus.
Recs
Extremely efficient, low cost producer of a fundamentally necessary commodity. Beaten down along with real estate, of course. The latter market will turn, and CX will reap the benefits.
Recs
Stock is ridiculously beaten up. If you have the ability to hold on long term, it will be solid in the portfolio.
Recs
Win or loose with the world economy, cemex is a winner. In an inflationary environment, govt spending on infrastructure would boost the stock. When the housing market bounces back, this stock will bounce just as high.
Recs
Honestly, the only reason I picked this company is because I think the stock price has been beaten up due to the housing problem, and when that turns around (and it WILL turn around!), so will the stock price. I can't predict when the housing industry will hit bottom, but if I waited until I was sure it turned a corner, I'd be too late. =)
Recs
Good management benefitting from consolidation in the cement industry. As others have pointed out, demand for cement can be expected to increase for centuries.
Recs
Developing countries will continue to have a high demand for industrial materials, and CX being one of the largest manufacturers and distributors of cement products, will continue to be in demand. The mexican economy has been hit as collatoral damage of the US slowdown, but will bounce back soon and companies like CX will have long term viability.
Recs
Good Long term buy right now. Everyone uses concrete.
Recs
Competent management team & potential for growth in emerging markets while US/EU work through their real estate capacity issues. Nice dividend program in place to pay you while you wait. Near olgiopoly on cement market between the major players in the industry.

Although USA markets are down, this stock has a nice presence Internationally. It is well off it's all time high and is building momentum. I like the stock, and feel that it has a ten point potential in near term.
Recs
it's been hammered and is now on sale. There is still some room for it to lose, but I'm hoping it will hit 30 by end of year.
Recs
1/7/08 1 year target $ 33

Great company, stock on sale with low P/E
Recs
Love the low P/E (under 8), PEG (less than 1), and nice Price/Book around 1.0. The price/book is especially impressive due to the age of the company and their "book" assets....these are likely 100 year old and very old valuations. A nice value play, with little downside risk.

Using the Clinton mantra, "it's the economy stupid" this is changed to; it's the infrastructure stupid! The new President will have to put people to work, back in the 30's it worked, no pun intended.
Recs
lots and lots of cement still to be poured on the infrastructure once we get out of this energy and subprime mess
