Like the rest of this sector. The company is scum!!!!!!

Ryan Air, et al will put Delta company out of its misery. Note to all: Carry a riding crop if flying on Ryan Air. You'll need it.

Have they ever made a profit? I mean figuring in all the money they lost, all the subsidies, etc. They have never made a penny!
Recs
Heavy debt, did not make substantial amount even in the good years. Earnings don't justify valuation given the size of its debt. Intangibles relatively high - may need to be written off to a greater extent - looks to be impaired.
Recs
Ultra high Goodwill boosting assets. Plus the obvious losses. Way high debt to equity ratio even with Goodwill.

I flew Delta Airlines this past week for the first time in awhile. Most of their planes are delayed. The lines for customer service for people missing connections were almost a football field long at every airport I landed at. They lost my bags and told me they would deliver them that night, but did not deliver it until the next night. Everytime I called they would give me a different answer about where my bags were. I listened to stories of people offering up seats on full planes for money and first class seats only to not be allowed on the next flight and forced to stay the night in the airport.
I have a hard time believeing that an airline with constant delays and terrible customer service has to good of a future. Now I know this pitch has nothing to do about the numbers, but I believe if you want to know about the future of a company you should go and actually see the company in action. If the company is running well in your opinion than the numbers in the future will most likely reflect it and vice versa. Delta needs to get their act together soon because I am seeing less and less repeat customers. Next time you fly Delta watch the breezeway lane for Delta Sky Miles customers and Elite members the line never has anyone in it. That is because no one flys Delta to many times before they realize.
Hopefully this pitch is useful to give information I noticed that does not have anything to do with the numbers and graphs.

Nothing about the airline industry looks good - high capital expenditures, profits directly related to cost of fuel and difficulty in raising rates while maintaining customer volume.

Adding more fees in a recession will not help them.

Consistent negative growth on earnings in the high competitive industry. Increase of oil price in the future and hte weak balance sheet will just make it worse.

nice bear market bounce, but long-term, this stock is going anywhere but up.

Airtravel is down 25%. Earnings will miss and oil will recover before travel squeezing the airlines. Forward earnings estimates are way too high.

If oil goes higher during the summer the company will be negatively effected.

I didn't even look at their income statement. Or their balance sheet. Or their news releasese. Or anything. Heck, I don't even know what the current stock price is. All I know is: This is an airline. And that's all I need to know.

I'm a regular full fair paying internal business class flyer and I avoid this airline like the plague because their planes are dirty, their crews are burnt out a pissed off and their food is crappy.

Here's an interesting tidbit: from it's inception to today, the airline industry has _never_ made money.
Recs
who would have thought gas would drop so much and allow these airline stocks to move back up? gas will go back up and when it does these will move back down.........

The best way to make a small fortune in the US Airline Industry is to start with a large fortune and invest it in airllines.

Lower demand during recession and payments due on hedging of fuel prices will create a downward spiral.
