Extremely Low Price for Book Value

Lovin it, bought in at .65 cents.

The cash for clunkers program resulted in a short-term boost in auto sales, which probably just depleted the pool of future buyers. This won’t become apparent for several months when auto sales come in much lower than expected. The immediate impact on DAN will not be felt for several months, but I suspect by early 2010, there will be talk in Congress that another CFC program is needed to boost sales again. At that point, the stock gains that DAN had enjoyed may be been mostly given back.

Restructured-return of good business management-the rebound of the auto industry-makes this a great long play. Look back in 5 yrs and you will ask yourself the same-why- did I not invest.
Dana has been around for a long time, they went through the tuff times, climbed the hill and fell of the cliff. Well, there back and has emerged stronger and in a much better position than before, making it an interesting investment idea at current price levels. Too far to fast-maybe-but give it time-the play is long cause when it comes to building cars, it starts with the parts.
Dana manufactures many of the parts carmakers use to piece together new vehicles. Its core products include axles and driveshafts, as well as sealing, thermal, and structural products. Among its customers are OEMs such as Chrysler, Ford, General Motors, and Toyota. The company also supplies companies that make commercial and off-highway vehicles, such as PACCAR and Navist

I love this one. To be honest, I only picked it because Einhorn did but mis-timed it and was losing. Let's face it, the guy is good at what he does so I thought it would be smart to benefit from his research and add on hindsight. Looks like it paid off with this one.

With Chrysler opening sevn new plants for production and GM's recent exit from bankruptcy, DAN will continue to increase in sales. The time to buy is now!

Times are rough but DAN is currently selling for 13% of book value and 2% of gross sales. Even though it's being depleted they also have a reasonable amount of cash to sustain them. Automobiles and trucks do wear out and DAN has plants worldwide. With their change in management over the last couple of years and a fresh start out of their recent bankruptcy I think they're positioned very well for a strong share price increase over the next 12 months. Ten dollars plus wouldn't surprise me a bit.

They'll get there dough and the stock will briefly blow.

an ex toyota manager as ceo and a killer board of directors. this copmany is going to rock coming out of ch 11.

Their old creditors were filed in bankruptcy that led to a change in the company from Dana to Dana Holdings under Federal Bankruptcy law! Also, they aren't so dependent on the big three as they have landed additional contracts with Nissan and one with Toyota, so they are diversifying.
Lastly, and this is HUGE, they have changed management and have implemented a new CEO whom use to be VP of Toyota before Toyota grew to # 1. You might want to re-think this assessment! I am all for it!

I am willing to back this gallant effort to redesign more eco-friendly autos and vehicles-as well as keep Employees working for the sake of their Families and the Communities where they live!
