+ Watch DANOY
on My Watchlist
A food company, which produces fresh dairy products, biscuits, cereal products and packaged water.
Danone is positioned to capitalize on the growing trends in healthy eating and living with their yogurt, bottled water, baby formula and baby food products. Danone has an incredibly strong emerging market presence and fast-growing product categories. The market is, however, valuing Danone well below its historic averages. Today would be an opportunistic time to buy shares of this great undervalued company.
Activist investor Nelson Peltz is attempting to unlock value in Danone by encouraging management to cut costs and avoid dilutive acquisitions. Peltz believes that the stock could yield a return of nearly 50% including dividends by the end of 2014. Deej
Emerging Mkts play and US (Yogurt)
In an increasingly unstable market, a company hocking consumer staples seems to be a relatively safe short- to mid-term bet.
All food stocks bound to rise. Got seriously interested in this one when my colon stopped up.
Great basket of products aimed at the more healthy end of the fmcg range - will continue to perform well
Groupe Danone is well positioned product-wise, here and internationally. The fact that they have an oganic line, focus on health, and people seem to really like and trust the brand.
Strong brands 15% growth in baby food sales after its recent acquisition of the largest baby food manufacturer in EuropeOperations in China and Russia are growing.
can't really say, just like the way the stock has shuffled it way up and think it will continue. the Co moves seem sound and I think this will show good, solid growth for the next 9 mo or so.
I bet for a long-term with this one.The stats don't seem to be somewhat attractive, but Danone is already the biggest yogurt producer in the world, it has Actimel and Evian brands that would keep getting more sales because of all the fuss about healthy food. But the main reason is of course Danone's acquiry of Dutch Royal Numico, biggest child food producer in Europe. With expansions to US and baby booms, that seems to be really perspective bet (even though the price Danone pays is about 44% greater per share than the estimated one).
Diversity is the name of the game here. This organization not only holds valuable product lines, but is make inroads to expanding into the world's largest up-and-coming market: China. Even Rupert Murdoch can't boast success on that end.
They make a good products focused on healt benefits
has co op with china wahaha
Great company, good solid products!
Danone, one of the leading global food companies, is primarily involved in production of fresh dairy products, bottled water and cookies, consisting of popular brands like Volvic and Evian. The company divides its operations into three specific segments: Fresh Dairy Products; Beverages; and Biscuits and Cereal Products. Fresh dairy products that accounts for production of yogurts and similar products, generates about 55% of the over all revenues, with beverages segment, involved in packaged drinking water, holding about 12% percent of the world market, contributes 26% to the tally. The food processing industry is highly dependent on weather conditions due to its major reliance on agriculture for raw materials. The volatile prices of agriculture products can affect the industry players, however in the long run the increased prices are passed on to the consumers. Looking ahead organic foods and beverages segments are estimated to reach $32 billion by 2009. As Danone is one of the leading players in the beverages segment through packaged drinking water, it will surely benefit from the likely positive turn of events. The French major has been registering steady results, with rising revenues lead by potent performance of its core segments, and strong hold in Asian markets of China and Indonesia. Looking ahead, company’s acquisitions of China Huiyuan Juice Group will be an important driver for Danone to achieve inorganic growth and get a stronger hold in key growing markets. Further, the new product development, which has always been an important stimulus for company’s revenue, can continue its spree with launch of Essensis, the yogurt clinically proven to improve skin quality. Adding to it, considering Danone’s growing performance in rapid growing market of Latin America and launch of the hugely popular DanActive, the health drink in U.S market, can help company to continue its growth story in 2007.
