I bought this 2 years ago in the mid teens. It went up a little, then began its meteoric fall. They need some really, really good news of a new discovery to climb up again.

too bad medicine is so conservative that deCODE MI wont be heavily sold anytime soon... but i'll be watchin' ya!

Evolutionary biology used to produce drugs and develop diagnostic tests. Low market cap. Very bright scientists in charge. A data base that most would crave (and that 'smart' big pharma pay for).
Just hope the evolutionary biology of Iceland is applicable to the rest of the world... I presume they have looked into this 'little' detail!

Unparalleled genetic data to isolate disease related information and create drugs that target those specific characteristics. This is the new wave of drug creation. It will be significantly faster and cheaper to bring new drugs to market, and help reduce rising health care costs.
Further, insurance companies will start using their genetic testing (already on the market) to adjust premiums and save the insurance company money. This will provide added revenues for DCGN.

The company is in the growing phase of development of investigational drugs and with no product in the market its stock price is likely to be driven by the outcome of the results of clinical trials on its investigational drugs. The investor’s confidence in the company has taken a beating following the suspension of Ph III trial with its led investigational drug DG031 in preventing heart attack. DG031 tablet was found to be dissolving less effectively and thereby under dosing patients. This meant that the company would have to change its manufacturing process. However, lately the company is contemplating to resume testing DG031 with a once-a-day dosing regimen.
At the close of the year 2006, the company completed the Phase IIa trial of another investigational drug DG041 for the prevention of arterial thrombosis and is expected to furnish its efficacy results by the second quarter of 2007. The other drugs of the company are at early stages of clinical development.
The suspension of further clinical testing on its led investigational drug DG031 and with the other investigational drugs in early stages of clinical research, the company yet has to gather a lot of steam.

They have a unique research system based on genetic records which go back for centuries. They can target drugs at specific genes with pinpoint accuracy. They have seven drugs in the pipeline which target everything from asthma to heart attack. Even if none of the drugs get picked, they still have developed a method of reducing testing costs, and have signed a $25,000,000 contract with Merck to use this technology. This stock could blow up huge if any of the products get approved. That they are engaging in relationships with big-pharma players speaks well of the company as well.

this is either the best or worst stock in the world

Has a very interesting methodology for developing drugs. Has tremendous potential but it will take time.
