Donaldson Company, Inc. (DCI)

Great company, truly it is, but the share price has a pretty high valuation at this point. My bet is management may take this opportunity to get greedy, perhaps sell more shares, and grow by acquisition. Either way valuation after earnings is now mirroring 2007 levels and I can't imagine management is oblivious to this.

Upthumb. Filter company (boring industry, but high tech industry with expanding demand for high-end products). Very good cash flow. Good payout, low debt ratios. Nominal margins.

Donaldson is a filter manufacturer for engines, workplaces, water, exhaust and many other applications with substantial income from its filter replacement business.
Filter replacement sales should help it weather a slowdown, as will layoffs of 20% of its workforce. If it slips I am guessing it will slip more slowly than the S&P. They have cash of $113 mil and long term debt of $257 mil, of which only 50 mil is due in the next three years. They also have a favorable tax adjustment that should lower their corporate tax to under 20% this year from 25% which should help them look good.
Higher interest rates could hurt them four years out. Overall I like the filter business going forward, and this company has done well at it for two decades.
Slow and steady outperform.

green takes time promising but oil will be on top after the market turns and the rush to green wears off.

DCI Management has limited it resources needed to be effective in its markets, DCI is slow in bring programs to closure and continues to make the same mistakes on new projects that could be prevented with lessons learned and if Management would listed to VOC and its own employees.

Too much money is lost ignoring VOC, DCI overall is doing well but they could do better if they wanted to. Donaldson is to comfortable just being good when they could be great.

WOW. What a company. Been around for over 90 years. Worldwide diversified products many in growth areas. I wish I'd been looking when this was in the $30's ... I'm not timing it well right now, but I'll take this as one for the future for sure.

Hmmm. Lets see...A well established company in a growth field with a well established earnings trend. And it's trading near a low. I'd have to say BUY.

This company continues to move upward in spite of wall street jitters. Donaldson has global exposure and is well established

Good solid company.

The stock soared from near 40 in late November to as high as 48 in the first half of December. A recent sell-off has brought the stock back to the 43-44 level, as the market for Donaldson Company becomes increasingly oversold on a technical basis.

With BOEINGS new 787 abut to be revealled, this companywill have huge profits. They are a contracted company for the project.
