Just added to my RL portfolio at 28.50 for a long term hold. Ratios aren't the best, but neither are those of AAPL...
Read a couple articles about this in the Economist, and the potential here is massive. Lot of room to grow and could be the next big tech company.

Revolution in manufacturing low volume products customized to individual tastes.

Rapid prototyping is already a boon for industrial design. Long term, as machines become smaller and cheaper, 3D printing has the potential to be a revolution as big as desktop publishing was in the '80s and '90s. 3D Systems is in a good position to ride that wave.

Great company and... fundementals and technicals positive... MF favorite..

DDD has to decide what, if anything they will do about Stratasys's acquisition. If they decide to stay in their specialty niche, they severely limit growth. If they expand into new market areas, they go head to head with stratasys. I'll wait another 3 weeks and then decide to either sell or hold.
Recs
I think the home 3dPrint market where DDD is investing is poorly understood and far more hype than real potential.
Industrial 3d print has high growth potential but is also likely to be highly competitive.
A company with a bright future, but overpriced for now.

Future is Scorching Bright for DDD
3D systems is a leading provider of 3D content-to-print solutions including 3D printers and materials. What is that exactly? It’s a simple as cooking up some crazy concoction product design on your computer screen, pressing print, and marveling at your creation. The 3D printer lays thin layers of material over an 8 hour-ish time span to create exactly what you designed. This could revolutionize just about anything from boy scouts making wooden derby cars, to manufacturing companies needing on the spot models/prototypes for presentations. There are seriously endless possibilities. Remember Lego’s or Linkin Logs? Forget that old school stuff, you can make your own pieces or entire design from scratch! I hope to look back on this in 5-10 years and think, damn, I was way ahead of the game on that one. Then take that multi-bagger to the bank and brag all the way back home.
Marketing 101
I work in Marketing and one of the presentations I dread is our Executive Review. We go through endless PowerPoint presentations trying to show and demonstrate how this product will look and feel and why it will be a success. The best meetings we have is when we finally have a prototype for viewing. It can take weeks for us to get SLA samples or other designs created. We’re looking into a printer from 3D and we’re all amazed at the potential it can have for us. It’s also extremely affordable in comparison to the expensive low volume SLA models we’ve used in the past. ANY company could use these printers… This is going to catch on, it’s just a matter of when and how far they can take their leading position in this industry!
Recently 3D acquired My Robot Nation which is a technology platform providing intuitive, game-like content creation for 3D printing. 3D systems expects to integrate the new platform with their current offering to make hundreds of new fun and easy 3D creation and printing applications.
