Just because Danaher is at their 52 week high does not mean that it is not a buy. That is the reason I did not buy 8 months ago, and the stock has gone up $10 since then. This company is diversified, loves to make acquisitions, and is also focused on organic growth. This is a steady grower and even a bear market will not hurt it.

Proven, extended success with Danaher Business System. No reason to expect they'll stray from it now ...

Wall Street tends to worry about serial acquirers such as Danaher, but there's no need in this case. Through its kaizen training program -- similar to Six Sigma -- Danaher is able to buy small companies, improve their efficiency, and turn them into profit machines. The company has built a conglomerate of boring little businesses -- water treatment, pressure controls, hand tools, pick-up truck bed storage boxes -- that dominate their niches and turn steady profits.
