I don't know much about the numbers behind Disney, or any other stock for that matter, but I do know that Disney has been around for a long while. I don't think people are just going to stop watching Disney movies or buying Disney toys/products or going to Disney Land.

With the power of Marvel and Pixar the mouse is back!

Uncle Walt has been ratcheting upward steadily..and for good reason. Global themeparks, a character in every culture from Lilo to Mulan, a new Princess every other year, brilliant two-dimensional and now 3Dimensional animation, and some brilliant acquisitions [Pixar, Marvel, maybe somehing in India). If they do right by the old shows, a new Muppet's movie couild make them a Mad Hatter's hat full of cash. Even in the most tepid recovery, Disney will still make money, picking pennies off the side-walks. Heading for 40. Regards.
Recs
Diversified company which has stayed true to its core values. Provide wholesome entertainment to children and make money at the same time.
Recs
Will get unparalleled from spring break park guests.

This is just a good company for the long term. I looked at the revenue from their movies, and basically every time they make an animated feature, it nets them $100 million. It doesn't matter how good the movie is, they'll still make money.
But Disney is so much more than animation. With brands like Mirimax and Touchstone, they're not dependant on young people. I didn't realize just how far their reach is.

The latest earnings showed the strength of the Media Division. I believe in the recovery for 2010/2011 and think Disney is one of the obvious choices to grow all the other divisions as the economy improves. Already, a number of highly anticipated movies is ready to roll out of the studio. I anticipate the Little Ones have a Pent-Up Demand to visit the theme parks in mass when parents have disposable cash again. I am looking to the future with measured improvement and diving in here.

Give a Day Get a Day will be very costly to Disney. Reward vs cost?
Recs
Disney will always be here. A world wide company with a great business model
Recs
Recent pullback looks like a good entry point.

Disney was oversold and broker through the moving average 2/10 when it closed higher than open. It consistently trended higher between 2/10 - 2/19 with higher closes and opens. Check out the divergence between price moving average and 1/25 and 2/5 - sure enough the price hit bottom and rebounded. The DMI is positive and ADX is growing in strenght. I expect the price to go to at least 33.00 and could set new top. If you don't act by 2/22 you could miss the boat on this one.

Because the world needs to smile.

Affordable entertainment remains important in the recession and thereafter, especially when it focuses on feel-good family fun and escapist superhero adventures.

With most of the economic downturn behind us Disney as an entertainment company stands to have some upward gain as people look for positives in the future ... the perfect match for Disney

Pixar is an unbelievable business, but its focus has always been on children which is why acquiring Marvel is the perfect complement to Pixar. Marvel gives the brilliantly creative minds at Disney a plethora of characters to appeal to the 12-28 y.o. male demographic (who represent the bulk of moviegoers). I am more skeptical of their other businesses but the synergy of Pixar and Marvel is too powerful to ignore. And finally, Steve Jobs is on their board, and he is kind of smart.

Disney is Disney. They are the best at what they do and are a solid investment in my opinion. I go there enough to keep them in business anyway.

A bevy of Superheros will help bring customers back to the happiest place on earth as the economy continues to recover. With Marvel movies already in production and television brands like ESPN, that continue to get stronger,Disney is well positioned for growth over the next three to five years.

Got this when MVL was bought bt DIS. I think it will continue to do well
Recs
In my portfolio. Only getting better with the Marvel Aquisition

Forget the financials for just a minute (I know that is absolute blasphemy to say). My family recently spent a weekend at Disneyland in California. It was two weeks after the holiday season, yet the place was still packed - this is normally their slow season. Also, on numerous days during the Christmas season, the park had to stop selling tickets because of being at full capacity. This is all happening in a down economy.
