Iron Man 2. The rest of the Avengers on the way... Theme parks may struggle for a bit, but the movie and licensing revenue from the Marvel Movies is going to keep Disney afloat for a long time.

Movies, Movies, and Marvel!!! Toy Story 3!! Iron Man 2.. and a whole lot more to come.

Too much money to be made from merchandising.

Great brands.

I want to buy a little of this long term for my niece.

This company has a good balance of revenue streams, a strong brand name and they are doing someting that has never been done before with their series of Marval comic movies. With these movies they are recreating comic books on the bigscreen at $10 a pop. The momentum is going to be amazing.

I believe the underperform comes from the lack of the mascot "Mickey mouse" in any of the disney films. The success of disney movies comes from one time characters which will not be the featured in the park. The disney park is a fun holiday spot for families, but I am sure there are more families that enjoy Harry Potter than all those 90 min disney characters. I am betting on the rise of the first Harry Potter park will shift the market because of the intergration of magic and atomsphere.

Disney has had a large run up over the last year. I have done well with this stock. But I see it running out of steam after the summer season.
Recs
Given the latest release of Iron Man 2, Toy Story 3 coming out in June, and the summer/spring sales for Disney Land/World starting to generate increased earnings, this should be a safe place to keep your money for at least a few months. But Disney has proven itself to be a solid company that is flexible and has a brand name that dwarfs its competition so wait for the right price and hold on to it for as long as you want.

The MVL addition is already showing its worth...

I was disappointed to lose Marvel because I thought it was a great company, but then Disney must have thought so, too; I was glad I got a few shares of Disney - will add more as I get more cash together. Disney does so many things (& so well!) for so many different ages & interests. They know how to market their products, too.

I think that the worst of economic times have not yet hit our society as a whole. We see it here and there sporadically. When this recession (depression) does eventually uproot the economy, people (families) won't be able to afford the vacation to Disney any longer. Disney is already slashing it's prices (promotions) because of the current strain on the economy. What happens when people cannot afford to take advantage of the deals they offer?

Disney is one those companies that will continue to capitalize on young kids, and teens. There merchandising is unbelievable. I was amazed to see their P/E at right around 20. I would have guess it would have been more.
