This stock is not nearly as expensive as it was several months ago. Earnings are growing at a very nice pace, the business is producing good cash flow, the balance sheet is healthy, and the company itself has plenty of room to expand. I think this company has a good future, and now that the stock is at a more reasonable valuation, I think it will outperform as a result.

dELiAs is a direct marketing and retail company operating three lifestyle brands namely dELiAs, Alloy and CCS. dELiAs primarily offers a collection of apparel, sleepwear and swimwear, whereas Alloy offers branded junior apparel accessories with both targeting teenage girls. CCS markets and sells apparel, footwear, skateboard and snowboard products targeting teenage boys. The company operates 71 premier stores and 2 outlet stores across U.S.
The three brands principally cater to about 11% of the U.S population. The Company’s target population is among the fastest growing demographic in the U.S. The recent performance of the company has been good with 12% rise in revenues and 5% rise in same-store sales. Retail segment that constitutes about 33% of the revenues grew by 26% with successful new store openings that include new format stores. To improve the productivity of the old format stores, the company has come up with a new table fixturing program, which will be implemented in 20 more stores in 2007. dELiAs is optimistic about its well-performing knitwear business and expects double-digit transaction growth ahead. Also the company has completed two major system projects to perk up their supply chain, which would benefit them in the next year.
Furthermore, gross margins of the direct marketing segment, that contributes 67% to the revenues, rose 1.2% mainly endorsing full-priced selling. Additionally, management expects overheads to grow at a slower pace, which should enhance the margins. The company aims to achieve a minimum 25% square footage growth in 2007. Looking at such key factors, this scrip is expected to outperform.
