Looking at the balance sheet, income statement and cash flows the company is not in trouble. Even IF they had to cut Net Income for YE 7/31/11 in half it would still be as much as Net Income for 2009 and 2010. With all the turmoil it is not an $80 stock but I can see $10/share upside in it.

Sell off is overdone, their fundamental business still has tailwinds, have you seen nut prices lately?

based on it's track record, adding pringles should increase its profitability and stock price over time. they continue to concentrate on what they have been successfull doing. snacks

When they figure out they should put their Kettle chips in the CHIP AISLE instead of in the healthy foods near the produce, I would expect they will sell a lot more.

They have a compelling product during a depression era when people are looking to enjoy food at home, eat right. Diamond's Emerald brand is meeting consumers' goals of a good value.

This company has a PEG ratio well below one, and has a margin structure that is blow the average for CPG companies. It is a high growth, small cap food company with strong brands and a good balance sheet...lot's of upside, and appears to have little downside.

Along with supplying all ranges of the consumer nut market, from bulk sales at Costco and Wal-Mart to single-serving canisters and bags, Diamond Foods Is a Savvy Investment in a slowing economy, as staple foods and home consumption increase. Also well positioned with major distributors.

well managed and good food for the bad times

People have to eat.

The company's numbers do not show a company that can beat the market. Maybe they'll have another run, but the steam isn't there. They're costs are soaring with their sales and it looks like they don't have much breathing room. Add in bad cashflow and strong competition, you have a sure failure in the making. Will the company make a profit? Yes. Will it beat the market? Not consistantly. Not overall.
Recs
This company is being poorly managed, terribly overspending on a branded entry trying to compete with one of the best marketing companies in the world (Nabisco). In addition, its growers are leaving the company in droves. This stock is a bow-wow.
