sound shipping business but the real kicker is the deep offshore drilling company owned by drys...possible spinoff to shareholders? i think it puts a bottom on this stock much higher than where it is today.

This is a solid shipping company. One of the things we are seeing in this recession is the mobilization of international markets together. As we recover international trade will again flourish and this company is at the heart of such exchange. Believe very shortly in a year or so it will get back into the 20-25 dollar range with increase in earnings.

I made a similar play on EGLE. I just feel like there is too much upside to these shippers. At some point people are going to need to start manufacturing again. When that is, I don't know. I'm trying to position myself with a few big shippers (NM, EGLE and now DRYS) to make a run when this recession turns around. I'm concerned about the going concern warning they received, but I'm encouraged by the action that management has taken. I'm getting in at a good price, and if this thing ever wants to get back to $114, I'll be positioned well to make some big money.

With shipping in the dumps, drys has a hefty fleet and will hunker down for this storm.

CEO Seems to be restructuring through diversification. Economy of shipping in it's favor. Coorporate jealousies (rumors, etc) have caused a significant pull=back. Industry has been very volitile. Non-POL shipping will need to increase as cusmables are depleted..

Dear fellow investors, If and when the economy ever turns around you will generally see the first signs are growth in infrastructure. or a rise in the (DRY BULK INDEX) DRYS does burn through cash but i feel with the stock off 90% from it's highs and trading at cost I found a good buy. Volatility is also high in this stock for the so called day traders.

DRYS derives it value currently from staying afloat. It has the backing to do so. It also derives value from OIL and the Baltic Dry Index. Both of which are on an upswing the last few weeks. The BDI has digressed in the last few days, but is still holding its upward trend for the last few weeks.
