My pick is DRYS!!! I know its risky but I'll stand by it for now. This time frame is 6 months.
Recent share issuances 41% of all outstanding shares are shorted.. what happens then those expire!?! They will too.
US $$ goes down. exports increase ships will be needed.
Much more details to be said.

Baltic DI reached bottom, fundamentally reached bottom. Now just waiting for freight price to stop dropping. Eventually it will have to move higher. Looking for $20 by the end of year.

way undervalued, china is picking up

Its cheap. Bought 1000 shares at $5.80.

The shipping of goods should increase allowing closer to capacity in all ships. I feel that all shipping companies in 3 years will over extend themselves and it will take another 2 years to build back to near full capacity.

Risky bid. But I think it is one of the better dry bulk shippers. They recently have made several refinancing deals. And shipping will live on to the future. There will always be trade.

They are showing their ability to work through their problems. Their industry is doing very well and this should help them keep their lenders at bay long enough to turn everything around.

once the global economy picks up, this shipper is poised to bounce back.

this was an easy one to rate. i have no idea where DRYS will be, but i do know the CEO is a crook who has a history of slandering american investors as "stupid".
he also has his family in very shady companys that deal with DRYS and the CEO tried to unload his personal boats unto DRYS shareholders at HUGE premiums. cough CONFLICT OF INTEREST cough.
yes DRYS may recover, miracles happen, but i wouldnt count on it. Id happily pass up any gains on DRYS and not fund this crook CEO's money draining plans.
what is this his 3rd company he ran into the ground?

I regret this rec everytime I sign into CAPS.

This stock has had all the bad news now. I thjnk, no, I am convinced it is going for 15 dollar in sept 2009. If volume is a counter (look at stocastic parameters) then it will go up. Despite of EXM, Prgn, that have better performance but worse fundamentals (for the moment being), it is still a good compagny.

High beta but surely they are worth more than this.

The three dilutions of the stock in the past few months were done, I belive, to placate the banks. Now the banks are granting waivers. Rather than have $1Bln in loans now DRYS has $500Mln in loans (with waivers in place)and $500Mln in newly printed stock. Although share holders suffered, short-term, the stock is now poised to move to the $20's.

I like the volatility. Not sure if this is the perfect entry, but will ride it for a buck or two.

DRYS has been so beat up recently it will well out perform the S&P

I have been watching this stock for months. No matter what bad bews comes out, it goes up. I passed on it awhile back after reading that it's own auditors where'nt sure DRYS would stay in buisness. Then the stock went from $5.00 to over $12.00 in a matter of weeks.
I ended up buying some yesterday, and today it was up over 20% for awhile.
This stock, along with FITB have managed to climb against logic, but they do climb.

Shipping rates will return to normal, already the number of ships not loaded at anchor has dropped quite a bit. We'll see rates come off these crazy lows ($3,000 a day) to a more normalized number of $20,000 to $25,000 a day within the next 6-8 months, IMHO.
Recs
shipping will start picking up as the economy slowly recovers.
