Although this is David’s Tea’s first profitable year, I think the business has the potential to double in the next three years, by adding locations and growing same-store sales. I expect the stock price will follow along. My mid-term investment… More

David's Tea is trendy and profitable, but the business model is easily imitated. There is nothing stopping the giant coffee chains from featuring a tea section in their coffee shops, or opening up tea stores of their own. Indeed, Starbucks bought Teavana and has plans to exploit this growing sector.

Although the demand for tea continues to grow ,the tea business will be saturated with competition. No one needs more than two Tea stores per mall.

Expecting shares to underperform over 3 to 5 years, eventually the company will be bought out.

While I don't see this becoming as popular as Starbucks, I see that this concept has been quite successful with Millenials and Boomers in Canada, and is planning to increase new store openings across Canada and continue its expansion into the US as well. As consumers continue to focus on health and reduce reliance on soft drinks and other beverages, I think tea stands to benefit.
