It has done reasonably well despite the crash in the price of natural gas. As shale gas drilling slows down and as transition of transportation from oil to nat gas speeds up, DVN should do very well.

Natural Gas is clean energy

Looking at sneaking in on the natural gas game. Has a Forward PE of 10 and has seemingly settled in around the mid $60's the last few months. Accumulating stock through buybacks as well over the last few quarters.
Buying in on the slight drop yesterday and betting on natural gas as an overall play.

Nat Gas play w/ fundamentals.
PB~1, PE~5, ROE ~22, decent enough yield.

127. Devon Energy Corp (NYSE: DVN) solidly bottomed in October at $55. While there are doomers and gloomers planning a global crisis of unknowable proportions, companies like Devon are screaming: "Buy me!" Target $70-$75. Of course analysts put their targets above my target. They are paid to pick the price that no one should ever be willing to pay: Full Price. The greatest thing about analysts is that their price targets almost always are raised once they hit this price.

America's energy focus is becoming domestic centric and this focus will only increase. The continued turmoil in the middle east and Iran's continue path of nuclear ambitions create the need for domestic production of oil and natural gas. While a lot of Devon's holdings are in Canada, Canada is one of the US 's strongest allies. By repositioning the companies assets to North America, Devon will capitalize and be positioned for the future to meet the energy needs of America

It's a solid company and will show profits boosting price.

DVN will rebound with the economy, as energy demand will pick up. Use of natural gas has potential to be huge for DVN in the near future, as well.

If you like CHK, you should adore Devon. True, Devon's price is a nick higher than twice the price of CHK But, and like Bette Midler says, "It's a big but," Devon comes WITHOUT Aubrey McClendon. And, despite that deprivations, Cramer likes Devon and Devon is close to its annual Low. [I know, what stock isn't....] At it's height, Devon has been in mid 90's so there are real possibilities here.
Recs
N.gas, domestically focused now that it has shed international foray. Low price, low debt, solid unconventional opportunities with sound yield potential. Dividend, low, yes, but compensated with capital gains via growth.

Supporting my long-term energy thesis.
