The dollar will begin to recover, Gold will begin to come back to earth. No central banks have bought gold recently (except India). It does not pay a dividend, and there are other more attractive investments out there (paraphrase from Bank of Korea stateement on why they won't be investing in gold). There is minimal industrial value to gold, and at this price, consumer demand in Asia is low.
The S&P has actually outperformed GLD since April 2009.
Gold has had a good run. It will end soon.
