Bet in the privatisation and in the beauty of the business: even EDP has a huge, huge debt that concerne me lot, i am betting for the long run in this company that operates in a very nice business with stable cash-flow. A part of that, the portuguese government which control more than 25% of the company will have to sell that participation until the end of the year. This operation should attract a lot of big players and push up the stock.

Energias de Portugal is a dominant electric and gas utility in Portugal with subsidiaries in Brazil and other countries. Shares trade in Lisbon, Brazil, the UK, Germany, the US, etc. It is thinly traded on the pink sheets with generally only a few hundred shares moving a day.
The trailing P/E is 10.8. They have been growing revenue by around 19% CAGR over the past 5 years, although earnings and book value have not increased quite as impressively. One problem is that tangible book value is a bit weak. But debt load is manageable.

Although oil will still be king for the forseeable future clean tech is already making inroads and should grow almost exponentially. Be it wind, solar, bio fuels or what ever, as a group they are only a small part of 1 percent of the total energy complex and will take years to make a significant dent in oil. Long term buy!!!
