Motley Fool has created a useful tool for short manipulation by this service, and EEE provides a great example. This stock is obviously speculative in that it doesn't have significant ongoing operations. It's built a laboratory plant for coal beneficiation, removing moisture, mercury, and other pollutants and increasing the BTU's in otherwise worthless Western coal. It's shipping the coal to utilities for test burns at this time. In the two years, I've owned, it's done everything it said it would do, and it has an outstanding board and CEO whose compensation is tied to the stock tripling from its present price.

The stock is also subject to a huge short position, including naked shorts. It's the only NYSE stock currently on the Reg Sho list. The shorts, led by the noted fraudster Manuel Asensio (barred for life by the NASD), have assaulted the company with a barrage of false rumors. The message boards at Yahoo are full of this garbage, and Motley Fool's service has given them a new platform to post the same type of unreasoned attacks. Motley Fool runs the same of risks that Yahoo experiences of the shorts and pumpers competing for easy numbers without any kind of analysis with this service.

Over half the power in the US is coal based.

Coal produces bad emissions and is dirty.

Evergreen's coal additives reduce coal emissions by about 80%.

Over half of all states are adopting clean coal emission standards.

Asian countries are interesting in utilizing Evergreen's technology.

While coal is the energy of the past too much is in use and the power it supplies to the world is too crucial to ignore the fact that coal will be a primary energy source for the next 30 years. However, everyone will want clean coal additives and technology. Evergreen will be a part of that solution as states force coal plants to go clean. Even the DOE is onboard with Evergreen's technology and platform. Best of all, it doesn't require new technology but, just blending of product and coal. It is not the solution of 2030 but, it is one of many solutions of the next decade or two.

Original Post:

Evergreen and many other 'clean' companies such as solar companies remind me of the dot com bust. Yes there is a need for them and many will do well, but it's just too expensive too hyped and ripe for a correction.

Now the company is going to change their name, so the word "energy" is in it. I don't know, but it seems to me that they are trying to find some way to bring investors in with a name more noticable than KFX. I don't see anything to make this a company that will outperform the S&P, and I see nothing that shows the company being around in five or so years.

Long term, coal is going to be the next black gold, I just believe it. No more than that and I am calling something against all you other smarties who are shorting this company. Either it's a takeover target or its a merger prospect or it goes it alone and fires on all cylinders for great profits over the next ten years plus. Anyway, that's my take on it. JD

Energy industry needs cleaner burning coal. Evergreen Energy is about to provide it using moisture removal porcess. Competition: currently one privately held company, CoalTek, which may have a better process but with a single plant no resources to dominate. I expect this stock to start to move around 1Q 2007.

Trending down, plus "clean coal" technology seems to be too expensive at the moment based on what I've read.

Only concern is Washington peeking in on the sector.

EEE has been beaten up by misssteps by the company with having a first of it's kind plant, and shorts taking advantage of this and creating doubt by misinformation given to the public. All this will be in the past when new K-Direct plant is announced by yearend, (as indicted by CEO Mark Sexton), this first of it's kind plant will be running 100% by the end of the first Q. Perceived damage by the delay of the Arch coal deal will be realized to have not effected anything, permit approval should be completed by 3rd Q and deal will be back on.

The shorts are getting squeezed big time at this point. In addition, tax loss selling to offset big gains in other stocks has driven this down over the last few weeks for no fundamnetal reason. It should easily get back above 10 quickly and then momentum from the shorts begging for mercy will drive it from there. If you look, the fun has already begun.

Ending EEE pick to get points and accuracy. I think it will pop back up above $1.50--I hope I remember to call it underperform again, then.

This business is a fraud. Dewatering coal has been tried and tried and tried, and its failed, failed, failed. $850 million market cap and no sales with no prospect of sales. A bunch of stock promoters.

It won't take much to get this stock moving in an upward direction. The ability to make coal burn cleaner and more efficient will help to increase the coal output of areas that can't mine coal due to high impurities.

KFX has been unfairly punished by rumor and overly aggressive negative reading of a minor operationial SNAFU. There is a huge short position in this stock that will take sweeks to work off at current trading volumes. As the company contiinues to deliver their product and tests continue to meet and/or exceed expectations, look for the short squeeze to propel KFX significantly higher.

EEE is on the verge of getting major contracts from domestic and foreign countries to build new plants that will use their Clean Coal Technology (k-fuel). The K.fuel is a patented use of high sulphur coal that reduces the pollutents to a point where the coal is not only cleaner, but much less in cost.

I just don't see the technology or need for it.

I don't buy into the Hype. And I HATE when companies look to naked short selling, etc. to explain their problems. To me, it always seems like the Wizard of Oz. "Pay no attention to the man behind the curtain!"

What's behind the curtain is what's actually happening at this company.
