This stock is an awesome buy! With the economy in this country becoming more and more global, the need for the shipping of resources and fright will become greater. This is a growing company and is on the right track to become great. With 20% growth in 2007 and $5.10 a share this is an excellent buy. Eagle bulk is also one of the leading companies among dry bulk companies. Also construction growth across the world has increased almost 40% from 2006 to 2007; this contributes to the need for global shipping. Enjoy and invest!

Here's a company that's not only growing capacity but finding a market for that growth. Check the newswires and you'll find them adding ships faster than Oprah adds pounds, yet their 98% booked for all of '07 and already over 50% booked for '08. Even with the latest stock offering, if they continue at their present pace, EPS projections indicate an exponential growth patter well into '09.

Shipping is risky business, but among competitors, Eagle has some good things going for it. First, their fleet of Handymax and Supramax vessels is relatively new. Also, additional ships are on order. Financial advisor and underwriter is the Royal Bank of Scotland.

The dividends alone make this worth it.

This stock is right on bottom..it shows the resistance level @ 4.50. The stock is selling under book value. Baltic exchange improving slowly. I will say this is very good buy. Once the economy improves it will go way up.

EGLE is a fine stock but their move too long term charters makes income predictable. Their new charter rates as listed in the annual report are good but not great. Not a time to overweight.

37 cents profit per quarter means at least $1.48 a year in profit. Even with a conservative P/E ratio of 8.5, this is a $12.58 stock.
A more fair P/E would be somewhere between 10 and 15 however, so this stock price has a lot of room to go up. Add in the fact that the Baltic Dry Index is rapidly improving, and you can see a huge upside to this sector in general and companies like EGLE in particular.
A top pick for 2009.

With many people being so worried about the rising costs of fuel, this is a transport business that has little to fear. Afterall, how do we get 90% of all internationally imported goods...you guessed it...ocean freight. These guys are a huge player in the ocean freight business, and will continue to be. Even if consumer spending dries up, stores pay to ship their goods back to where they came from...so they benefit even further if consumer spending drops. Financially, you have to love the fact that EGLE's long term investments have more than doubled over the last year. Pair that with 17% yearly profit growth, and you've got a winner. I'm bull on EGLE.

Dry bulk shipper doing well as a result of decent global economic growth, and squeezed supply of dry bulk ships. On top of that, there's a juicy 10% dividend.
