I consider this idea to be a gift.

Insured bonds obviously have higher credit ratings than uninsured muni bonds. Unfortunately, very few of these default, so the extra layer of protection makes little sense. Over a long period of time, the meager return of a muni bond (weighted down by insurance for an eventuality that will probably never occur), is just silly.

In bearish markets EIM may be able to stay close, it bullish markets it doesn't have a prayer.
