Estee Lauder is posting some staggeringly good numbers.
I'm currently writing an article about "the lipstick index." The lipstick index posits that, in uncertain economic times, a consumer will turn from more expensive indulgences, like a $500 dress, to cheaper ones, like a $20 lipstick. The term was coined in the early 2000's by Leonard Lauder, then chairman of Estee Lauder, who found that during tough economic times his lipstick sales went up.
The lipstick index is still holding up, if EL's numbers mean anything.

Really think this is a great company, love their balance sheet and see them making a big push in the Chinese domestic market. With growing Western tastes and likely strengthening of the yuan I believe a growing demand for luxury imports like EL will go down
