Most likely THE best all around stock I have seen recently. Immaculate balance sheet, solid growth, strong industry, visible competitive advantages -- all trdaing at a STEEP discount to its peers.

The laser field is big enough that ELOS can compete alongside the several other major companies and still succeed. I actually feel they have a technological advantage over other companies (at present they are the only ones with approval to zap cellulite with their product), and have the patents to defend against others. Currently they are also a value play given their growth...the market hates elos because they are in Israel and Cramer keeps on saying that other companies have better products...I think this is dirt cheap, and it's my biggest position.

Trends make Syneron attractive: again populations mean increased dental problems, and cosmetic procedures just keep getting more popular with young and old. Syneron is selling at a very reasonable p/e vs. its growth, is financially solid, and should be able soon to get its earnings growth commensurate with its outstanding revenue growth.

A who’s who of the value investing world and numerous newsletters publishers are all hanging their hats on this company.
- Seth Klarman of Baupost Group and Royce & Associates to name two.
- Brandywine, Dreman, Complete Growth Investor, Motley Fool Rule Breakers to name a few more.
- Whitney Tilson or at least Tilson Dividend Fund, which is advised by Whitney, but managed by Centaur Capital (i.e. two ex Fools, Zeke Ashton and Matthew Richey) to name another.
They all scream the same thing, the sub $15 stock of this company is worth at least $25.

Syneron Medical is a provider of medical devices for aging baby boomers (wrinkle reduction, teeth whitening, etc.). I see this sector as a high potential for exploding in the next few years as more people buy into the idea that they need to look prettier.

I admit that I may have strayed across my competence line here. Fancy medical devices to pretty up the aging, aren't really within my comfort zone. However, looks incredibly undervalued. Balance sheet is fantastic, margins unbelievable and I do like the idea of this industry in an aging society. Trade publications indicate the products are superior, but I really can't say for sure.

A ton of thoughs at http://retailinvestor.blospot.com - have been very long and very very overweight ELOS for about a year now and am at a point where I am BEGGING this stock to recover - I am pretty confident it will.. just hope it happens sooner than later...
Recs
Jumping on the minimally invasive asthetics bandwagon - aging, increasingly vain domestic population, increasing middle class discretionary dollars worldwide. ELOS and CYNO are positioned to profit well.

Deep value play for a number of prominent investors has become an even deeper value after recent earnings miss. Sub $10 looks like good entry point - technicals suggest we are nearing short-term bottom, while value metrics seem compelling - debt free, 60% of market cap in cash, small premium to book. Likely dead money for a while, but solid 3-5 year recovery prospects from current level.

geeeez.... one more copied pick underperforming.
some day I will learn to do two things...
1 = Dont copy 5 star picks from other players because they say nich things about it.
2 = Don't short 1 star stocks that I copy from other players because they say naughty things about it
1 + 2 = 3
3, "three" sounds like "better caps rank" in the swahili language :D
all said.

EPS growth of 21.7% for the next 5 years will provide for lots of growth in the stock price. Earnings are a respectable 18x, relatively low for a biotech company.
PE/Growth ratio of .53 demonstrates how undervalued the stock price currently is.
Profitability-wise, the company is outperforming the industry and looks solid against the S&P 500 as well.

As the baby boomers age they will inevitably get fatter and uglier. Laser hair removal and aesthetic skin treatments will likely grow in popularity.

I ran a stock screen to filter out companies with similar characteristics to C-Trip (CTRP), I then did a discounted cash flow valuation on each of the stocks that were listed and added them to my selections if the valuation was reasonable. This was one of the stocks that filled this criteria.
Some of these stocks may not prove to be successful but some of them should do extremely well and far outweigh the losers. By keeping up to date with news articles it should be possible to dump any of the stocks when they look like they are going to struggle and minimise losses, thereby leaving the winners to keep running.

Hair-removal, pigment-lightening, leg vein and wrinkle-reduction, skin-tightening, skin-rejuvenation, reduction in appearence of cellulite: all magical words to an increasingly large population. Sure it is a crowded and competitive field, but their increased efforts in sales in the US and Canada, combined with 3 newly FDA-approved platforms: eLight, eLaser, and eMax, should bode well for them.
Recs
Love the industry, but prefer ELOS over its competitors because of its international exposure, which should insulate the company against the continually weakening US dollar.

As Cramer says, Syneron is for real!!

Ageing population forever seeking the fountain of youth, increasingly going for cosmetic enhancements. Sure longterm winner, especially at these modest valuations.

Tie in with P&G is very exciting. Margins are best in the business.

Great entry point

Syneron price per share down over six persent today due to its competitor's poor showing for the mrq. Syneron will now take lead in it's field in the next year.
