Low-tech, not sexy at all, but profitable in a space that is going to get bigger. Very cheap on a P/S basis. P/E of 15 is not expensive compared to others in the industry.

With the increasing demand for electricity and the need to increase energy efficiency battery companies should do well.

Poor fundamentals and institutional selling means that it's high time to get out of EnerSys. Sales have taken a serious beating, and costs, particularly those of commodities they need like lead, will probably bounce back before their sales recover.

I like the battery business generally, but ENS just has too much going against it for it to be a buy for the time being.

$162M in trailing FCF and a 12.5% projected growth rate gives me a rough valuation of $2 billion for this stock -- 75% higher than where it is trading today. Add on the macro trend of everyone, his brother, and his cousin Clyde planning to release a new electric car within the next two years, and I wonder if analysts might even be underestimating the growth potential here.

Government contracts, government money and an overall excellent sector to be in allows ENS to top the market.

Two words plug-in hybrids; all of the big auto makers are planning on unveiling a plug-in hybrid car in the next year. With dwindling oil supplies battery technology is going to be a critical industry in our greener future and this company is well positioned to profit from the growth in this sector.

Enersys is finishing up on restructuring which will save them much needed cash. The company is well positioned and although the demand for their batteries will decrease, they will still be widely needed. But the big bonanza will come with the stimulus money. There is an extraordinary amount of money designated for battery R & D and being the US's largest battery company, Enersys stands to be the biggest recipient. I think this company is a strong buy, especially at the current prices.
