Winter coming up, good time for natural gas.

Currently a bidding war is being waged for EROC's minerals business. First, Natural Gas Partners upped its bid to 145 m about a week ago, and then Blackstone Energy Partners offered 157.5 m and will also provide a standby equity investment commitment in support of a public equity offering by the partnership. If accepted, the deal should close by the beginning of the year. EROC stock has already jumped on this news and the bidding war may not be over. Furthermore, winter is approaching which will cause natural gas prices to rise and the outlook for the oil and gas industry, natural gas in particular, is very strong. My recommendation is “buy”.
