Entergy has lost more than 27% of its share price over the last year, despite some really excellent profit reports.
They are trying to sell off the Nuclear power unit located in the NE and having trouble with NY State and VT due to issues with payments they were supposed to make to both states as the result of purchases from the NY Power Authority (NYPA) and the state of VT as a result of their purchase of VT Yankee.
I do not believe Entergy is dealing honestly with these states and they've been fined by the NRC for failure to maintain adequate alarm and siren systems at Indian Point. The bought IP2 and 3 and have cut staff at both plants.
I own 500+ shares and have seen my investment lose 27% in value in the last 6-8 months. The share price of this company is heading south and quickly. I wish I had sold a year ago.

Some energy can become cheaper over time to produce. This can be done with nuclear technology.

Since I only do this on sundays...
I used Bates' DDM and project 113.84 for this stock.I undertook my investigation of the electric utilities sector starting with the idea that this is a mature sector, probably the first to get out of any slump.

Nuclear power industry is the current answer to address base-load power needs without generating green-house gasses. Entergy owns and operates over one tenth of all US reactors. Improved operating strategies have yielded top-performance with regard to reduced outage time, and increased capability factors. Siginificant investments have been made to upgrade components at each station throughout their fleet and most stations have either received operating license extensions for 20 years beyond the current expiration dates, or are deep into the process with NRC/State approvals expected this year (2008). The price of this stock has quadrupled in the 5 years during a period when the company was purchasing reactors for sale at bagain basement prices when natural gas was inexpensive. The sky-rocketing cost of natural gas has again made nuclear power a viable option.

I don't know if anyone is personally familiar with Entergy, but I am. I lived in Louisiana/Texas most of my life, and this was the company use. I'm sure that most people know how hot and humid the south can be, but if not..it can be blistering in the summer and cold in the winter. People use their air conditioners and heating more than anywhere else I have seen before ( I have also lived in the north) in which produces for more energy costs in the home. Think about that one while global warming comes into effect. If it's getting hotter than normal, its going to be there also. It will continue to do well!

I like electric/gas long term, because as oil becomes more scarce, we are going to have to look in other directions, and I think electric and gas will benefit....long term is like real long term, longer than 20 years.....but I think the gains to be had over that long term could be very big.
This company seems to be run-well, so maybe they can take advantage.

Leading nuculear utility. Nuculear energy is best suited for efficiency without domino effect (as ethanol). Current strong performer. Seems a bit high priced @ p/e of 18+ but longer term outlook is excellent.
