better financial footing than other american companies. wages for workers are dropping, health care reform could reduce their costs further and they are producing better vehicles.

I have a lot of confidence in CEO Alan Mulally and his past experience leading Boeing. He seems to have a handle on Fords debt and will be able to lead it forward out of the abiss. Ford is upgrading its image with new models that are energy efficient and they are aggressively going after the market in other parts of the world.

They did not take obama money/control. They have at least as good a product line as any other and probably are a lot better .The leadership is the best in the industry. They are the only sound investment in the idustry and they are not owned by the union or obama.

Being unencumbered by the US Government (they didn't take the poison), Ford will be more nimble and able to meet market demands. Profits will grow as will market share.

It may be the only surviving member of the last great American auto company. If so, it'll take a lot of market shares. They are improving their vehicles and making money (trucks are still popular). If they manage to be on top of the "green" vehicle market, we may see a turnaround.

The biggest automotive company hands down, Ford seems to be making the right steps to come out of the recession, which appears to be almost over. If it is not, Ford could have some trouble, but as we leave the recession, Ford is taking proactive steps to get rid of their debt and become the profitable company they once were. Their stock is also at a great price, with no reason for the great decline in 2001.

I was slobbering over this stock when it was $2.70-ish and wanted it for my 401K roll. But due to the slow processes involved, the play hasn't been available. I still like it in the $8 range as a longer.

Unlike most firms, the Ford family owns a large block of "super majority" shares & their personal wealth is tied to the company. This causes them to make different choices than your standard set of directors & CEOs, the main question is; have the shares run up too far & fast relative to global mkt. values? I suspect sideways valuation in the market until we have a more clear global stability view, unless you're a daytrader.
