The no government bailout honeymoon is over. Slow economic growth means less cars sold.

Ford Motor Company is basically in the tank, but it's time for a comeback. These guys started it all and I think they'll pull a rabbit out of a hat before it's all over; a 5-year prognosis.

Ford is the most undervalued stock in the automotive field and I hope that if you're reading this you bought it up when it was below $11. It has an easy $15 in it. Now that the contract is taken care of my only real concern with Ford is that they get the Explorer back to being a suv people actually want to buy.

given a decent market (europe) and Ford's p/e ratio compared to other car makers a price target of $15.00 - $17.00 looks resonable by the end of the year. Labor issues are now behind them and the downside is minimal especially with the fact that a dividend renewal is a very possible - although it may be small.

While the stock may pick up in the near term, its diversity of products would work against an exponential growth for the overall company. A good hedge, but something that comes with the nature of a hedge.. cautious growth.

Ford has upped it's game lately. Providing a better product and steadily growing it's customer base. Look for a jump from overseas difficulties in Japan and a revigerated product.

Ford is back to business, making good cards. New chief Mulally came from Boeing and knows engineering and making quality products. Boeing's loss, Ford's gain.

Being the most secure of the three American car companies Ford will be best situated to adapt their vehicles to compete with overseas competitors in a market place that is becoming ever increasingly competitive. With a solid backing in several vehicle types Ford will have plenty of wiggle room for dabbling in obscure directions. Ford has also had the best reliability and safety rating of the big three over the last few years.
