This stock is a long term holding on the expected growth in nano technology research like during the gold rush i am going with a pick and shovel company i expect now as then they will do better in the long run than a comodity type company that produces whatever new product, that gets discovered .to modify elements on the atomic level you need to be able to see what you are working with FEIC makes one of the most widly used electron microscopes in the research world which is proven by their order backlog this coupled with the new table top microscope should drive earnings for several years to come

The exec's aren't overpaid like most companies. This is a good sign. Lots of cash.

Nanotech's safest play. Picks and shovels to the nano world.
They dominate Atomic Force Microscopes.

(veco is interesting as well)

For those of us that watched Robin Williams in the 1978 series 'Mork and Mindy,' you may remember Williams (a.k.a. Mork from Ork) always saying: nanoo-nanoo. Don't remember exactly why Mork said that; nonetheless it does start to bring this pitch to its better point. And that would be Nanotechnology (Nano.)

Nano is : how many angels can you fit on the head of a pen. But that likely told you nothing----unless your function junction capacitates like mine...!!??!! Okay, now that i've wrecked the brain-train and have you....listen up...lol ! Please ! Thank you...lol !

I have no expertise (likely very obvious) about nano. That said--here: Nano covers a broad subject or is an umbrella so to speak term. Yet, i can concisely state what it is and hopes to become. Good ! Because so far you have quite the mouth-full. (This is entirely to much fun....)

Nano is the control of matter on a scale smaller than one micron. The dream of many a scientist, entrepreneur, investment banker is to fabricate things much smaller. Even make the machines that make things smaller----smaller themselves. Imagine the industrial revolution, again, happening. Except this time from a molecular level and encompassing, very likely, the production of everything. Yes, i said everything. I believe FEI is involved with a disruptive technology.

FEI fits in this way: they make, service and market products which are used in research development. Such is big business. Data storage and semicondutor companies are customers. Three dimensional viewing provides enormous understanding - - -Titan microscope.

Yes, for most of us trying to say what FEI does after reading articles such as Value-Line is like trying to professionally practice medicine after reading a couple of medical journals.

And since that is likely the case for most of us, i pitch, too, some fundamentals most everyone can value. Nano is here! Nano is evolving. And as the Industrial Revolution changed the world, i believe Nanotechnology will.

Not mentioned, thus far, has been FEI finances. Very strong ! They're cost conscious. Yahoo Finance their books ! Value Line their books ! Only downside, i've noticed ( or felt relevant) was no dividend.

Summary: Of the many things that will happen to our economy, the fruitful disruption of nano is one.
