Changing My Caps to Reflect my investing strategy. I start with a simple screener trying to find undervalued dividend paying stocks. Then because I want to invest in things I understand I eliminate any businesses I have not heard of or in areas I lack knowledge ( Financials, Precious Metals). After that I check the Caps Rating and it gets a thumbs up if it is rated 4 stars or higher. Very few 3 star companies will get a thumbs up but occasionally i will go out on a limb with one.

Comfort Systems USA, a company whose only means of growth is to acquire mechanical contracting businesses, has shown that its management cannot hold on to the customer base that it purchases.

If you will take the time to closely follow their day to day business activities you will see that they will move into an area, buy up mechanical contracting companies for their customer base, then consistently lose this customer base as they fail to provide the necessary technical expertise to perform in the marketplace.

This pattern works out well for upper management as they are able to attract investors with their buyouts, then sell off their holdings at a profit for themselves as the stock price slides.

If you are comtemplating purchasing this stock, look at what the directors are doing with their stock and ask yourself, "Why are they exercising options and then selling on the slide and not holding for growth. The answer is quite simple. There ARE no long-term profits in the future for this company.

One only has to compare a chart containing their stock price with a chart showing the dates of their buyouts. It's a classic pattern (similar to a Ponzi scheme) of temporarily inflating price with acquisitions and then profit taking as the price slides and then repeating the process.

Solid company, punished unfairly with the rest of the industry. Small dividend, solid balance sheet, room to grow.

As with all my picks: A very attractive P/E, excellent EPS growth rate and high five year growth prospects.

Nice contrarian pick. Here is why... stock price has fallen and then languished mostly over the market scare. Company has no debt to speak of, assets over liabilities look good. Short interest is a bit heavy but starting to reduce under a slow upward pressure. Plus the dividend allows for growth if the price pressures upward stall. Its not a pick for everyone, but it is a STRONG contrarian pick with all the fixins.
