The recovery in bank stock share prices are not yet warranted. The recent rally in the financial stocks, including the banks, has been based on something other than fundamentals, which means that their current price valuation are based mostly on the “good will” of the investor. But this type of asset is difficult to value and usually overvalued, which means that the real price for this stock should be much lower than the closing price today.

Although they seem like a likely survivor, I expect this thing to be further diluted with more than likely another stock offering to sock away in LLP for the remaining non-performing assets that the latest debt exchange couldn't cover.

Financial stocks carry a P/E ratio of 22.4, and the so-called "recovery" has been especially strong in bank stocks. Therefore, I’m concentrating my shorting interest in the banking sector.
