I am sorry, but there is absolutely no way I could put a red thumb on the maker / purveyor of Jim Beam. This is a recession, people look for cheap entertainment, why not a nice tall glass of your favorite brown liquor?

Followed (FO) cuz Tom (my namesake) said this is a good solid company. It's diversified (Liquor, Cabinetry, and Golf Equipment) about the strangest mix of industries I know. Also the Executives know what they're doing, But it just seemed very stagnant. I had about 20% of my portfolio on this reccomendation. (Should had been 10% max) But it didn't seem to be going anywhere. Tom, you got me. I was intrigued about the wierd mix of products and said "oh, what the hell, BUY!" But I sold it all off at a small profit and bought a few hundred shares of a couple of shakers that are returning 18% and 26% respectively. You've said "never fall in love with a stock". Well I broke it off and am back to collecting a nice return. I think this is the only misfire I've taken from you. Kudos to you and all the Fools with the rest of my successes. I couldn't have done it without the input from you all.

I find their product mix to be very fascinating. Controlling well known brands such as Jim Beam, Courvoisier, Sauza, Titleist, Footjoy, Master Lock, and Moen faucets. These brands are both credible and dominant in the marketplace and I don't see any weakness in any of the brands mentioned.
