The company will probably struggle for a while based on its recent earnings. All the numbers look reasonably appealing, however except the price to free cash flow, but since the price to cash flow is acceptable compared to its industry I'm not as worried. Their business model and services provided seem a little too specified and I don't think they will last as long as some are predicting but for the time being they should be relatively secure.

as the future gets closer, new tech allows us to further our space studies.

Here's to banking that satellite makes it to the sky this summer.

We have a communications company that is vastly under valued. Sales grow, profit grow, but p/e low at around 12. The cash on hand to pay debt is good with both the quick and current ratios over 2:1. This company is lead by a bunch of government insiders now in private industry ie. the space race general, a cia person etc. What this bunch doesn't know about satellites and communication is very little. This bunch is well connected in the government. This company GEOY has the best of the best: except for bussiness savy. This bunch of bean counters and computer geeks wouldn't be able to market ice cream on the 4th of july. All they need to do is provide every one with an earnings statement for 2007, that easy. They knew the deadline and failed. Secondly I find an unusually low owner ship in stock about 5% but no one is buying. However most government people like those that run this company are good at spending tax payer dollars but not their own. I just want to say you guys know the company is good and we know they are good --so go out and buy some stock and show the committment -- I do like a high ownership by industry (but not this high--86% ). At this point I go back to basics: profit high, well financed, good people at top, the top brass are well connected, and they have a new satellite going up this summer which means more bussiness. I think that long term will be very good, the general just needs to hire a PR man and a Bussiness Manager.

Well run company. Needs volume but slowly gaining steam.

When they launch their newest spy in the sky it will generate lots of cash. They are a well run company.

Speculative play-not sure if will pan out in the short-term, but looks like good technology.

Need this next satellite to go smoothly and this will be a 40+ stock...

GeoEye is responsible for many of the satellites and technology currently being sent into space to take detailed imagery of the Earth. This is actually a fairly monopolized and limited space (no pun intended) meaning increasing revenues and profits. The company hit a slight speed bump when one of their satellites failed to work in the 1st quarter of 2007, but beyond that, we are seeing 30-35% revenue growth and very large jumps in EPS. The technicals are on the verge of a breakout at this point, so there isn't much stopping this to the upside.
