This fund is not leveraged and mostly composed of small/medium cap German companies. Materials, health care and industrials make up for 75% of the assets.
This fund may suffer in the near term but innovative companies like Q-Cell (solar cells), SGL carbon (structure material, wind energy) will come ahead wherever and whenever the next bull starts. Specifically, GF generally stands to benefit from development in eastern Europe, emerging markets and from the energy innovations of the 21th century. Germany has not lost its strong engineering culture and universities are tightly integrated with the businesses and turn innovation into growth like nowhere else.
You may want to wait for an even better entry point, but 20% discount looks pretty good to me. You can monitor the discount on http://www.etfconnect.com. A tender offer last year managed to reduce the discount to the single digits.

The German economy is in the early stages of a up-cycle. This will be brought about by structural changes in the economy. Also EU trade policies are favorable.
