CAPS Rating:
***

Exchange Traded Funds

Rating a stock in CAPS consists of three components:

Your call - Will this stock outperform or underperform the S&P 500? Successful picks are measured in terms of whether or not you were correct and by how many percentage points.

Your time frame - A guideline for other players to see whether your thinking is short or long-term. Time frame is also used to calculate the stock rating, but is not used in the scoring of your pick.

Your pitch - Here's your chance to offer more detailed thoughts, analysis, concerns, or the rationale behind your call. The pitch is optional and may be added later.

Each time you rate a stock, CAPS updates the community intelligence for the company, which may or may not change its CAPS rating. For more information, visit the Help tab at the top of the page.

Gold is going through $1,650 in short order, on its way through $2,000 and beyond. The US Dollar has no support, technical nor fundamental. Congress and the FED have made it blatantly obvious that they are willing to desperately try to print / inflate their way out of this mess, and this makes gol...More

Currently, there is too much precious metals optimism and hype in the media and by the "average" investor living on mainstreet. I think today's optimism about gold is about equal to the important 1987-1988 peak in gold prices.

The CPI is rigged somehow. Once people figure that out, gold will skyrocket again. The idea that inflation is contained right now is ridiculous.

Gas is up. Food is up. But you can buy a plasma TV for a third of what you could years ago. See, no inflation.

Gas is up. Food is up. But your wages are just the same as they were last year. See, no inflation.

Gas is up. Food is up. But you can get a huge rebate on a gigantic SUV. See, no inflation.

One thing that should definitely be getting cheaper right now: bullsh*t. There seems to be a pretty good supply of it available.

Gold is currently selling in the 800's. I do not believe it will go under $750, and within the next year I expect it to reach $1,200. This is a great time to buy gold.

This was a safety purchase concerning recent changes in the markets and in the financial condition worldwide. Recent credit issues with banks, increasing oil prices, tightening loan policies, the decrease in the Fed rate, weakening dollar exchange rate, and recent gold production issues in South Africa have caused me to seek some safety for part of my portfolio. This was done to reduce the level of risk and to secure profits within my portfolio.

Overall, I expect gold prices to continue rising over the next 6 months due to inflation mostly.

Any who think gold is cheap look at its forward P/E. Oh thats right, gold is just something you hold during disasters to pay your bread and cans of tuna with.

Gold is not the commodity of highest desire anymore. Its oil.
