Check out Gorilla Glass 4. May already be in some cell phones. And their 'poloroid' type glass for buildings etc looks to have a great future.

Future smartphone and tablet sales will provide growth for Corning. The products of the Life Sciences division are also exciting. Corning has a good balance sheet (excellent current ratio) and strong free cash flows. It's undervalued based on its p/s ratio compared to the 5 year average.

I love the "Day made of Glass" vision of Corning and the engineering-led culture of the company. CEO Weeks enjoys a high 83% rating approval on Glassdoor. The company makes abundant cash-flow and has a good balance sheet. But the continued revenue concentration on the commodity-like display segment makes for lumpy growth -- and Gorilla glass has yet prove itself as a major revenue driver. To be sure, this is NOT a company which will go bankrupt easily ("built for longevity") but I feel that it can benefit from a little aggressiveness and focus -- perhaps, ironically from the likes of American Tower's management team.

Corning's deal with Samsung should lead to greater profit, greater efficiency, and continued increase in demand for Gorilla Glass. Looking forward to seeing this company light things up over the next few quarters.
