Another Cheap Valued Mexican Stock. Pays an Ok Dividend. Controls The market it is in. ADM owns a big chunk of it. Should be good.

At a P/E ratio in the single digits and with an operation that is set to explode in the US with the growing Latino population...how could you go wrong ;)

Global Gains pick, not so sure of it myself with massive debt (500 million for a sub 2billion company). Obsessed with Chipotle myself (i eat there 3 times a week minium)

It's all about demographics. The population of Hispanic people throughout North America is growing tremendously, and they will eat the products this company produces. It's also possible that the company will expand into other markets as well.

mexican population growing fast

good fundamentals, foreign currency advantage

Awesome company! I challenge you thusly:
Go to your local supermarket and find a pack of tortillas that these guys don't make!

I was high on this originally, but at this point, I can't see Gruma growing much any more. There are too few barriers to entry and the company, while solid, is probably not going to outperform the market.

Dude, it's food! We all gotta eat. No, but seriously, this one's looking good: solid trajectory; massive untapped base of consumers; plenty of room for growth...

I got in 3 times on the way down and have a 25% return so far. News is slim but some is available on their web site and other places. I think boring is good
and I go with Bill also.

Hey, this is just pure faith in Bill Mann. He said it was an interesting pick at $12, and now its below $10 and headed towards its 52 week low around $8.
Boring business, located in Mexico, with currency and Venezuelan risk in the short-term.
In the long-term, a growing market in US, dominant market share in an industry (food) that rewards dominant market share and scale players, selling into a trend (growing Hispanic market, growing market for Hispanic food), with other expansion opportunities globally.
Seems like a good opportunity to me. And they are ramping up their US facilities, which means that post-capex, their free cash flow should improve as well (and given the size, should help offset the Venezuelan hit).
may not do much, but I like having a Consumer Staple as a pick in a portfolio of picks that includes one commodity and 2 wild biotech picks.
Boring could be good.
