Global Payments, Inc. (GPN)

CAPS Rating:
****

A processor of electronic transactions for merchants, multinational corporations, financial institutions, consumers, government agencies and other profit and non-profit business enterprises to facilitate payments to purchase goods and services.

Rating a stock in CAPS consists of three components:

Your call - Will this stock outperform or underperform the S&P 500? Successful picks are measured in terms of whether or not you were correct and by how many percentage points.

Your time frame - A guideline for other members to see whether your thinking is short or long-term. Time frame is also used to calculate the stock rating, but is not used in the scoring of your pick.

Your pitch - Here's your chance to offer more detailed thoughts, analysis, concerns, or the rationale behind your call. The pitch is optional and may be added later.

Each time you rate a stock, CAPS updates the community intelligence for the company, which may or may not change its CAPS rating. For more information, visit the Help tab at the top of the page.

Out of the competitors I've researched, this is the only etransaction facilitator (ok, you figure out what to call their industry) that actually has a working business model. And yes, I may not have fully researched the field...so sue me. It's not like I forced you to read my pitch.

GPN has historically been a good buy on dips - this might be a little early if the recession is severe, though.

Good revenue growth, no debt, decent cash flow. These all look like signs of a healthy company to me. Good outperform candidate.

A credit, debit and money transfer service which has since declined from it's recent high of $48.18. This company is similar to Mastercard in which it's revenue comes from processing transactions, not from loans or interest. GPN also makes money by providing software and services to companies such as Mastercard. The alsohave high growth in money transfers from immigrants. Come on folks this business has grown around 30% annually and should bounce quite quickly from the $42 level and should reach around $50 by Feb or March. Get in now!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
