GAP has a strong customer base across the brands. Their customer service outperforms other big-name corporations. The stock may not be at the same price as other companies, but GAP is more reliable.

It was said that the Gap would experience bankruptcy in 2009. With negative news constantly being posted in regards to are economy I think that fixed income stores will become the staple of the new economic structure.

Very strong balance sheet. Management obviously was cautious and has good foresight. Undervalued based on free cash flow.

The company's cost-cutting measures are paying off as it continues to have strong earnings per share growth. Time will tell if better product and brand presence can improve same store sales.

Has to be a long-term thing, I think they will eventually turn around, and when they do if margins get back to even close to where they once were it's a huge EPS gain, escpeciall as they continue to buy back shares.

Since I did a pitch for GAP being a clothing retail outlet, I will make this pitch about a grocery chain (GAP). The way food prices on staple items are getting these days I would not be suprise if suppliers don't start fudging a little, just to ride the waves of high cost of fuel for food. There, just reverse the two symbols (GAP vs GPS) and you have the correct pitch.

Gap has been in trouble for a long time. I continue to believe that with the right management they will come out of their funk in the long term. Recent collections at Gap stores are looking and fitting better. BR is and will continue to be the wind propelling the company forward. Old Navy is questionable. With competition coming from retailers like Target, I think they should look to what H&M is doing for a change of pace.
