Fantastic opportunity! :)

just waiting on the announcement concerning the taxes they may or may not be having to pay over there which is a big deal...the bright side is they have the cash to adapt and ive been watching GU since Jan - was my first "real" pick so to speak (not in CAPS-an actual account)...if a couple things fall into place as they should, GU will not only outperform, but make stockholders real happy as well

NYSE listed Gushan Environmental Energy is one of the most volatile stocks I ever observed, but thats understandable with it being both green and technical as those two are the volatility of the market and this one is look'en pretty as a picture in the penny stock range.China is going green at a massive rate and this one is all off in the middle of it. My guess is,it along with all legitimate green business will get any funding or tax breaks needed going forward in china and most parts of the rest of the world.Products at a 5 year sales growth of 81% already. For sure one to watch.

I think GU is risky, but attractively priced. The China/emerging market/political risk is hard to quantify. The biodiesel price/market risk is also hard to quantify and is a wash, as I think that prices can either go up or down.
However, due to timely IPO, they have a ton of cash. Given this financial strength, they will likely survive until a high price environment returns. If this happens, the stock should do well. I think it is likely Oil will spike in the next five years, so I think that this stock is likely to outperform in the next five years.

I hate to pick companies that are not currently making money, but it appears Gushan's depressed earnings come from a disputable tax provision and the general decline in oil prices last year. Given the strong balance sheet and need for alternative fuels, I would say the upside potential outweighs the downside risk here.

most of their reported loss last quarter had to do with a provision for a new consumption tax that will probably not have to be paid. it looks like there was some miscommunication between the provincial and central governments about whether biodiesel was to be included... it's pretty clear that the tax is meant to discourage the use of fossil fuels and encourage growth in biodiesel usage, so the matter should be resolved shortly. GU is sitting on over 100 million in cash, plus 10 million more once the tax situation is cleared up, and more plants coming online will increase capacity from 340,000 tons now to 500,000 tons by early 2010. They have no outstanding bank loans, so their financial position is pretty strong. they made a profit every quarter of their existence until the price of oil collapsed recently. it looks like oil is on its way back up, and if not the govt will be taxing it to encourage growth of alternative fuels. they have paid out two small yearly dividends, which tells me management plans to return value to its shareholders in the long run. not much downside here, and in the fullness of time this could be a 5 or 10 bagger.

Thinking of snapping up some stock for real at this price. Been a fan of this company for a while, like their financial position, good amount of cash almost zero debt, am a little concerned about recent profitability or lack of, but I believe enough in the fundamentals to give this one a big thumbs up for the future.

Bought in around $2 and forgot to enter my pick. For China, in some respects, it's easy being green. Emphasis on health in China, plus green thrust converges in this stock.

I like the positive cash flow form operations and the stock's upside potential. Currently, its well below its moving average. I have bought this stock for my own real portfolio. BUY

Next gen biofuels like this company has and VRNMD is developing are the keys to a sustainable green energy future along with Nat gas

gushman energy has been paving the way for biodiesel fuel.
its only a matter of time for this massive "green company" to
break from the chains and become a major power in energy companies.
with strong profits and strong fundamentals this one is going to be fun to watch

I simply used the screener to find all of the 5 star stocks with the greatest 52-week losses. 5 stars should make them good picks and the high 52-week loss should make them cheap. We’ll see how it works!

looks like it should be a solid pick for the price. I sold some call options on this one and if it stays under the 2.50 I'll do it again. Options would appear to be the greatest thing ever. My cost average is down around 2.10 so even if they hit 2.50 I make money. going to 0 seems to be the only bad thing that can happen on this one.

I have to agree with the other red thumbs. Biodiesel has been tossed aside for a practical fuel source. This was a fad from a few years ago that never panned out. Our government backed biodiesel and a few jumped on the bandwagon and rode it to some profits but this one is dead. Leave it to our government to back something stupid. Anyway, the point is this one has passed already. If you want to get in on it, you are too late.

Disappointing quarterly earnings statement.

From the postings, this is probably a speculative pick. The numbers look to good to pass though.

Although I REALLY wanted to red-thumb GU, there's a small chance that it'll one day trade at or above its IPO levels.
Judging from the number of highly-rated bulls that are currently green-thumbed on GU, I'm not willing to bet against it.
I view this as a high-risk, high-reward play.
