If the merger/acquistion deal falls through this stock will drop to the pre-take-over discussion level. A couple bad sales quarters and any unexpected retention loses will drive the stock price even lower.

Never invest in a company with a sloppy service operations model. Gevity is a low-grade company in an industry where compliance requires trust and attention to detail. Shifts in employee management and benefits next year will probably make a significant impact on profits in this industry.

The core product of most businesses has nothing to do with employee management. There's a whole bunch of redundant, non-expert payroll departments out there that could lower their costs by outsourcing.
