Utilities are always among the first to recover from a recession. GPE's new Iatan II power plant is one of the cleanest in the nation and will provide low cost power to the mid-West and will compete directly with gas fired turbine units. GPE plans to offset the new coal plant with an additional 300 MW of wind power to increase it's holdings to 400 MW.

Recs
This energy company is expanding its ability to produce power, and has had a recent drop in value. This downturn in market value is a mistake that will correct itself before too long, when it does the price per share will go screaming through the roof. With a solid market share, and everybody needing its product this comany is going to rebound, and when that happens there will be profits available for all involved, not to mention the 6% dividend they offer to investors
Recs
Good dividend for a tough year. Limited downside.
