According to the International Financial Times, which is detailed below in the following link, HAL made nearly 40 billion in profits during the war years mentioned in the following article. Funny, to me anyway, that the current market cap of HAL, after the stock fell from near 90 dollars a share to current levels, is hovering around 40 billion, which means HAL might be trading near book levels, which is just a guess from my point of view, making this security deeply undervalued. With over 100,000 employees, why would I not want to support this equity at current prices. HAL Outperform. --) My price target for this security is closer to 90 dollars a share with or without mergers of equals, MUR out, and yes, I live near Detroit.

In my option, the strongest competition to this security is SLB, not XOM. Happy Thanksgiving to ALL. LLA (Long live America)

Just bought at 49.80. Merger with Baker Hughes should improve synergies in long run. Stock was also down 10% for the day upon purchase. Bounce back baby!!!

Halliburton is better at find oil 'profitably' than any of it's competitors. They will continue to better than Schlumberge and Baker Hughes.

As long as geopolitics can stay semi-sane HAL is well positioned to reap gains from the industry.

Halliburton is a huge, iconic technological oil service company participating in the large surge in USA continental drilling resurgence drilling and re-working old well established oil fields to rejuvenate and enhance oil and gas recovery with recently developed new techniques. The shares, well near highs still have great potential ahead over the next three to five years.

Halliburton shares are a strong BUY.

They are the key to the "fracking" business and that is the best technology for energy independence.

Recent news proves there have been some great buying opportunities for HAL shares since, despite reality, many people hear/see nothing beyond shock-value headline phrases like "plead guilty" and "destroyed evidence" and are immediately anxious to make ignorant claims without considering the more important details like what that so-called "evidence" was. I'm sure you've seen some of the stuff I'm talking about ... there are actually articles arguing that Halliburton's CEO should go to prison! The bottom line is quite simple ... BP repeatedly behaved absolutely atrociously and, in order to satisfy political pressures, Halliburton had to be guilty by association ... of a misdemeanor.

Important to note from the HAL press release: "A Halliburton subsidiary has agreed to plead guilty to one misdemeanor violation associated with the deletion of records created after the Macondo well incident, to pay the statutory maximum fine of $200,000 and to accept a term of three years probation."

The "evidence" was test results done after the accident that seemed to show that those tests were irrelevant to the accident, although I'm sure the DoJ would've preferred to make that decision. For details, see the HAL release and the DoJ release ... to understand the significance of what happened, it's necessary to read both (and other sources of details about the accident). This a token slap on the wrist for an infraction that the DoJ clearly considers immaterial to the broader case and the far more serious offenses by the company responsible for the accident in the first place. From the accounts of witnesses from all the companies, it's pretty clear that, of all the companies present at Macondo, Halliburton had no real involvement in causing the accident.

Personally, I'm hoping for another round of Halliburton bashing so I can finish backing up the truck at ridiculous prices.
