I'm watching a group of 20 stocks that are predominately priced at or below fair value based on historic valuations. The portfolio has an above average starting yield of about 3.35% compared to the S&P 500's 1.95%. The portfolio is designed to replicate something I might choose in retirement in order to live off of dividends alone instead of share harvesting and was inspired by a series of articles by Chuck Carnevale. My goal is to not make any changes for at least 5 years unless a dividend is frozen, cut or, I see a golden opportunity that increases current income as well as offers a better than average chance at capital appreciation. The portfolio doesn't need to necessarily beat the market for me to be satisfied with it's performance but I expect it to competitive in both short and longer time horizons as well as generate a rising income stream.

See ya in 2020.

Facebook, Tesla or Alibaba may crush HCP over the next few years, but HCP has much less downside, and with a 6% annual dividend it should embarrass the market well enough. I have plenty of rabbits in my portfolio, and an "Icarus" play or two. A tortoise play might be prudent. Black Swan insurance.

Should have gotten in awhile ago, but better late than never. The fact that I can combine a growing health care sector with real estate is awesome. Yes please, I'll take two.

Reits are always hard for me to value, given the debt. The historical dividend on this and growth is very promising.

Strong dividend stock. Continuously raises dividend. P/E in the low 20s. Off its 52 week high. Well diversified business.

This REIT is a dividend aristocrat. Combined current yield and 5 year dividend growth is 8.2% (Chowder number). We must watch interest rates carefully and dump at the slightest whiff of rising rates.

HCP is the best REIT security to own for long term growth and income. The fact that it owns a large percentage of health care and assisted living properties, coupled with it's extremely high yield rate, makes this pick a ten year tripler.

5 days of way above average volume, 4 days bullish and 1 bearish(to no avail). Busting out of consolidation and closing close to the days high. SMA finally moving upwards and its riding on the upper Bollinger band. MACD Nearing the center. Almost a triple hammer with a full bull candle gapped up above the previous days close. I'm on a long call I bought earlier today for $40.00 until 22FEB2014 which is after there earnings date. Got it dirt cheap and I'm betting on an uptrend. Pretty hard to go wrong with Real Estate and health care. Especially with Obama making motha hubbas get health care fool. OUT PURRRRFORM
