Afther FDA-approval
Recs
Finally achieving commercial viability with their recent filing of a new drug application for Ampligen, to treat Chronic Fatigue Syndrome. Other applications for the proprietary, RNA-based biotechnology. Revenues are still a ways out, but should begin to appreciate with market acceptance of new drugs.

Its products are versatile. They appear effective in their own right and they also appear to boost the power of a range of other medicines. Hemispherx is also forming partnerships with other companies that wish to take advantage of its products, making it likely that they will have an increasingly growing revenue stream.

Double blind placebo controlled phase 3 trial.
Disease: chronic fatigue syndrome.
Market: 1 to 3 million patients in the US.
Data is good. They achieved statistical significance with the primary endpoint and no significant side effects were noticed.
This happened 3 years ago.
Why didn't they file a NDA in order to get FDA marketing approval?
1. They decided to do manufacturing by themselves.
2. They decided they wanted to give the FDA data on every patient they ever treated.
And they lost focus because on top of getting those things done, they decided to get involved in bird flu, small pox and other diseases. It made sense but when you're a small company you lack human resources.
And one thing we all don't have enough of is time.
They should have done 1 & 2 while they did their clinical trial.
Why didn't they?
Because the CEO is a great scientist who sees and loves lots of opportunities but he's a bad business person.
I should have realized this a lot sooner and invested my money somewhere else and then one day come back.
That day is today.
Here's my pitch:
All the stock did was go down because when things take too long people tend to believe it ain't never gonna happen, something must be wrong, so they sell.
Here's what you need to know:
- The company will file that NDA within the next 2 months!
- The data will also be peer reviewed and published.
This will convince those who still have doubts and would like to see it with their own eyes.
Patients who couldn't get up are now able to walk again.
This stock will easily outperform the S&P 500.
It's time to jump on board!
About the CEO.
When he steps down it would make the stockprice go skyhigh. And maybe he will. His job is done. It's time for someone else to take over. That guy is already working for the company.
But hey, that's just me hoping for it.
That doesn't make it come true.
So let's stick to the facts.

I think this stock has great potential as Japan would like to have biotechs that are advancing meds at home rather than continually approving U.S and Euro drugs. It will be helpful to HEB during their many drug trials.

I've been waiting for this guy to get over the $1.50 mark. I can't believe I missed it the first time around. If I have time I'll post my research, but I just logged in to make this call before it dropped back under $1.50!!

Jeepers, this is a tough call. I'm torn between Under and Out but my gut tells me any company with 100 patents in the Biopharmiceutical arena will eventually become consistently profitable. At $1.80, I'm putting this one on my short list of stocks to purchase in the near future. I don't have a lot of REAL money, and I seem to enjoy gambling on the long shots. I'll research it once again at the time I'm ready to pull the REAL trigger, but that's part of what CAPS is good for. Go Hemispherx Bio!

My money is where my mouth is. Avian flu, CFS...to me these are hot button health issues.
Recs
oversold, good clinical trials

Ok where should I start?
To my knowledge:
The company burns more then 4 mil $$$ each quarter.
They have just couple products.
Ampligen®
Alferon LDO®
which have high side effects chance and at best they can sell those products for 6mil
They have couple more products which are in early stages of developement.
Insider don't hold their own company's stock.
Recently there were upgrade from
Boenning & Scattergood :) How much did they pay for that upgrade? :)
Enough said? :)

Small biopharmaceutical company; has, I think, the only avian flu vaccine so far. Scottrade analyst rates it as a "strong buy." Yes, it is a penny stock, but at 100 shares, each dollar up, you gain a lot.

bird flu speculative play

HEB has been attempting to find a disease for it's drug, Ampligen, to cure for over 30 years. So far no country has found it safe and effective. In the meantime, insiders have been ceaselessly promoting the company's stock and profiting by issuing new shares.
Assuming Ampligen is effective against one or more of the diseases it's said to treat and it gets FDA approval, HEB would need to go out and sell the drug to doctors. Somehow, I think the insiders are more interested in selling to investors.
