Although I wouldn't touch the GM common with the proverbial 10-foot pole, this 7.375 note seems like a solid bet. The company will likely continue to lose market share, but has sufficient financial strength to continue the nearly 10% yield payout. IF they get their product act together (and that's a large "if"), the icing on the cake will be some capital gains.
