Natty Gas rebound + 6+% royalty payment. US Gov't is pushing Natural Gas as part of their fight against the pipeline from Canada. Somewhere there is an Oklahoma State fan that has been preaching Natural Gas, that is happy.
Recs
its going down because of nat. gas prices. might be too soon in this, but over long term, it will be a good entry

5 STAR, Small-cap, dividend payer

Reasons to buy.... the gas and oil keep flowing, the trust keeps paying out monthly royalties, little to no debt, below historic high. The natural gas holdings HGT has will last a long, long time and it's not going to get cheaper.
Recs
very low overhead; the last two quarters they have seen a significant increase in the sell of natural gas and I believe natural gas will play a greater role in America's energy future. It also pays a solid dividend; trading near its 52 week high, but still off multi-year high.

Natural gas play.

with nat gas below $4 this is a great time to get into this stock. Great fundamentals, governance and accounting risk is fantastic (only 3% of companies have less risk), and more drilling occuring as we speak. I say get in now and let it ride, because catching up to it when it starts to run will be hard. Will nat gas go down from where its at now? I doubt it. And while we wait for nat gas to rise (which is inevitable, we all know this), we get a nice dividend that will build our position and we'll be ready to reap the benefits. This is a no brainer! It's money in the bank.

Natural gas will recover far faster than anticipated. This stock will survive to benefit.

100 days in office and nothing has changed yet! Pig flu is looking to get us all and so is all of the other worlds mess of suicides. I don't mean to seem heartless as I write this, but I'v read all the dooms and glooms in the past decades of years and put to rest 2 very wonderful wives. GOD bless their lovely souls and keep them warm. Seen the good and the bad,as have all we fools, but life goes on. Natural gas is something we have yet to figure out a way around and besides it makes good for the time.90% net profit margin here 3 1/2% div and yield and close to 0 % dept REO in the 70"s.PE around 3.70 For sure one to watch.
Recs
Great yield will likely cause a short term stock stability, add pressing energy needs, no reason a $20 price is out of the question by close of 2009.

As the economy recovers, so will the natural gas prices. I like that HGT is drilling wells right now, preparing for the future. Dividends will take the hit in the short, but I like dollar cost averaging my holdings. Who doesn't like a monthly dividend (or royalty)??
Recs
low end of cycle + divs.
Recs
has been suffering due to lower energy sector, nat gas and oil mainly but when the co's in this trust turn around it has great gains potential , and did i mention the dividends....
Recs
Natural gas for clean energy and high dividend yield. Doesn't get any better.

July ’08 was a strange month for Hugoton Royalty Trust. Shares are up y-o-y by 21.0%, including an $8.00/sh drop during the last month. Despite the loss of share value, dividends have increased handsomely: increasing an average of 55%/month for a net 40% increase y-o-y. During the last 12 months, distributions have been $2.38, yielding 8.0% at a constant $30 share price.
Distributions during the last 3 months – influenced by high nat gas and oil prices – are going at an annualized rate of $3.88/year, for a yield of 12.9%.
If oil prices increase due to the declining dollar, geo-political instability, or bad weather, the shares will resume the pattern of 21% annual share price increases with an 8.0% yield, for a total gain by unitholders of 29% per year.
With favorable pressure from any or a combination of these variables, the 5-year high of $40.45 could easily be reached. Resistance level is $30.99 today, with a chart indicating a breakout back to $36.42 when it hits $31.00. A least squares trend line for the last 5 years reinforces an estimate of a $40/sh price by August 2009.
This is an excellent holding for virtually any portfolio.

I've owned this one for a while due to it having been spun off by XTO (I didn't know where it came from or what the heck it was when it showed up in my little Ameritrade account!) Since about $22, I think. Shoulda recommened it then, huh...?
