The buyout is a dumb idea, I don't think Skechers will do it anyway, the Heelys people apparently want more money (which they won't get) and without a buyout this company is doomed. Wheeled shoes, what a dumb idea..

These shoes are so annoying, but everywhere I go there are kids wearing them. They are introducing them in Europe and they are huge. They are also introducing shoes without wheels. This could be a big shoe company if they can capitalize on their current base

I've just bought

nothing new , just a company coming into profit that you can buy for around what's being held in cash.

Yes the fashion is over in the US perhaps , but looking at the annual report , business looks better than guesspectations might suggest.

If you want instead to try and make money riding the trend of a company that's surely going to do really really well in future , you are going to have to compete with countless others who also think the same , and pay a price accordingly.

POT or BUCY anyone ? ...

This stock has had a huge downturn over the last year. I see them recovering some of it.

Sales and earnings are dropping like a lead balloon. Bankruptcy ahead.

So I bought this stock at the time CROX was big, thinking this would be just like it, but this stock just kept burning me. Turns out it was really just a fad. Many gurus and well known investors advise to buy what you know. Well, I knew what Heelys were, I knew a lot of kids that wanted them or owned a pair, but one lesson I've learned is this: "buying what you know" don't mean squat. That's not to say that those who advise this don't know what they're talking about, it's just that there's much more to investing in a company than that.

OUT OF BUSINESS, CEO LEFT FORCED OUT, TOO MUCH INVENTORY, PLUS THE FACT THEY ARE NO LONGER IN MANY OF THE LOCAL RETAIL STORES THAT CARRIED THEM.

Market is looking too much at the fall in the sales of Heelys. Even if the sales go down, the enterprise value of the company is very similar and the brand is very popular.

Worth significantly more than what the market is currently valuin

This company is going out of business unless they change their ENTIRE business strategy. No one wants a shoe that rolls! This stock is barely worth its book value.

MFP. At first I thought this would be 1-year or so fad, but Broadway's "Little Mermaid" has all the stage actors performing in these, as does Disney's "High School Musical 2."

Judging from the previous HSM and the 'staying power' (har har) it had, I think the Heely's shoe will surge in popularity for a year or so.

Then it's time to sell.

I may have been a little late getting on the train, but I definitely think Heelys are essentially going to die out in the next couple years. Remember scooters a couple years ago? Fortunately a lot of companies, like Razor, weren't completely built around them, but how often do you see scooters now?

If you visit Heelys' website and check out their products page, you'll see that the entire company is built around their wheeled shoes and accessories for those shoes (sure, they have a clothing line, but so does every other surf or skate company on the planet). Very poor business model IMO...
